The Fox & The Crow

Drawing for my next illustration. Not sure when I'll have the chance to color it, but hopefully soon!

To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

Aesop Part 1, Color

The first in my series of Aesop Fables illustrations. Pencil & digital.

Aesop Part 1

I've decided to get back into the swing of things by assigning a small project to myself of a series of Aesop's fables illustrations. Working with material that is already familiar & focusing on bringing my own style/character to animals seems like just the kind of thing for me at the moment. Nothing earth shattering in concept, but it is enough to get me sketching, drawing, and back to the process again.

This is the first drawing in the series, an image for The Lion And The Mouse. It will eventually become a painting as well but I haven't yet determined the media...

2010 Sounds Like A Good Year

Making my resolutions today--more sketches & illustrations to come in the new year!
I'm very excited to be getting back to what I love: DRAWING, PAINTING & BOOKS! It certainly has been a while but I've never been more ready to get back to work. I want to learn, practice, experiment, grow, and eventually come to better understand my own art.

Until then, let uninhibited creativity & the purity of the picture making process bring me peace!
